Chairman & Commissioners

The Commission now has a new Chairman. He is the Member for Kundiawa Gembogl Hon. Joe Mek Teine. He was appointed on the 18th of September 2007 under Section 8 of the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission Act by the Head of State acting on advice of the Prime Minister.  He was appointed after Hon Dr. Allan Marat was elevated and appointed the Minister for Justice and Attorney General.

The six Commissioners are appointed under Section 5 of the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission Act, by the Minister for Justice for a term not exceeding 4 years with eligibility for re-appointment.  Two Commissioners are Members of Parliament until July 2007; the two MP Commissioners were Hon: John Muingnepe (Bulolo MP) and Hon: Zasa Zibe (Huon Gulf MP).
